Fitness platform SotoMethod has brought on Powers PR as its agency of record.
The agency is working with the workout brand through an integrated PR approach offering services in traditional media relations as well as thought leadership, spearheading efforts for national and regional strategic partnerships, experiential, talent and influencer, according to Powers PR founder Lana Powers.
Powers PR began working with SotoMethod in June. Powers and Alex Wollman, an SVP at the firm, are spearheading the account.
Since Powers founded the agency in 2017, her team has been establishing a focus on health and wellness clients, particularly ones looking to grow brick and mortar businesses, she said. So naturally, SotoMethod came up on her radar.
“Our roster is very carefully curated,” Powers said. “Either myself or someone on the team is a consumer first and when we find brands, experiences, new products and new services that we love and become obsessed with, then we want to obviously be a part of that growth.”
Powers explained that she was looking for the “next best thing in fitness in New York City” when she started seeing Hilary Hoffman, SotoMethod’s cofounder, all over Instagram. Influencers in her network were taking the classes and soon friends in her personal network were attending the brand’s pop-up in Tribeca.
Powers attended a class and was introduced to Hoffman by her mutual friend Elizabeth Endres, founder of Sweats + the City, a client of Powers PR. The two then began discussing ways for the brand to expand its reach and presence in the city, including working with SotoMethod to launch its first brick and mortar in Tribeca this fall.
SotoMethod launched in 2021, offering a mix of cardio and sculpting workout classes. Powers PR is its fist agency partner.

In addition to SotoMethod, Powers PR has also recently brought on Chelsea Piers Fitness and wellness space Sage + Sound as clients.
The agency will be working with Chelsea Piers Fitness on an all encompassing strategy. Powers VP Kelsey Wheeler is leading the account.
For Sage + Sound, Powers is supporting the brand on thought leadership, traditional media and influencer engagements, as well as assisting in the opening of its new brick and mortar location in Greenwich next year. Associate director Courtney Stewart is leading the account.
Budget details of the partnerships were not disclosed.
Powers PR is a boutique PR agency headquartered in New York. The firm’s client portfolio includes canned cocktail company Loverboy, fitness program Pvolve and Lumen Technologies.
