New hires:

Real Chemistry, a 2024 MM+M Agency 100 honoree, appointed Cali Howitt, PhD, as president of U.S. medical and executive leader for its promotional and medical affairs business in the U.S.

General Oncology announced the appointment of Abid Ansari as CFO.

Noom appointed Dr. Jeffrey Egler as chief medical officer.

Grace Graham will take over as Food and Drug Administration deputy commissioner for policy, legislation and international affairs.

Synapse Health named Mandira Singh as president.

LaVoieHealthScience added Nina Gill as SVP of public relations and communications.

FuturHealth named Keith Koch as EVP of growth product and experience design.

Parexel announced the appointment of Charlotte Moser, MD, PhD as its chief medical officer.

Protara Therapeutics named Leonardo Viana Nicacio, MD as chief medical officer.

Executive elevations:

Real Chemistry promoted Lesley Stanley to senior director of media and engagement and Christian Edgington to senior director of earned media.

AscellaHealth elevated Donovan Quill to chief strategy officer for life sciences and Bob Gilkin, RPh, MBA to chief commercial and growth officer.

Emily Looker was promoted to executive director of U.S. corporate marketing at Novartis.

Board appointments:

The Ad Council named 17 new members to its board of directors and elevated Carla Hassan, chief marketing officer at JPMorgan Chase, to the role of vice chair.

Vital.io named Bridget Duffy, MD to its board of directors.

Shareholders approved all resolutions proposed by the board of directors at annual general meeting of Sandoz.

Departures:

Galapagos announced the departure of its CFO and COO, Thad Huston, effective August 1.

Earlier this month, the FDA fired dozens of staffers responsible for going after retailers who illegally sell tobacco to minors – now it’s asking them to come back.

Miscellaneous:

President Donald Trump is “fully fit” to perform the duties of the presidency, the White House physician said in a memorandum.

House Oversight Chair James Comer said he was launching an investigation into national security and data privacy concerns stemming from the bankruptcy of 23andMe. He called on co-founder Anne Wojcicki to testify publicly on May 6.
